My die was not originally built by EDI. Can I send it to EDI for repair?
Yes. EDI welcomes rework on other manufacturers' dies and stocks some spare parts for them.
Does EDI rework or repair other extrusion line components?
Yes. EDI can help you with the repair or rework of feed blocks and feed pipes.
Do I have to clean my die before I send it for rework?
No. We can clean your die prior to starting the rework process. Please send MSDS info for polymer left in the die. However, you can save time and help reduce the cost of repair by cleaning the die prior to shipment to EDI.
How much will it cost to have my die repaired?
The answer to this usually requires some additional information. We will need to know die type, size and general condition. Typical cost of a complete rework is generally 30 to 40% of the cost of a new die.
How long will the rework of my die take?
The answer is determined by the die type, size and scope of the rework project. Most general rework projects are completed in 3-6 weeks.

My process has changed since the original manufacture of my die. Can my die be upgraded to be compatible with my current process?
Yes. By applying new die technologies we can determine if your die can be modified to fit your current process. Modifying flow channel geometry, and adding Autoflex gauge control systems are examples of current technology that may be incorporated into your die.
Can you change the width of my die?
Many times it is possible to reduce the width of your die, generally it is not possible to increase the width of your die.
